Mercedes-Benz Stadium gameday guide

What to bring, what to leave at home, and when to arrive so you walk straight in. A few minutes here saves a long wait, or a turned-away ticket, at the gate.

Arrive by

Arrive 2 to 3 hours before kickoff. Tournament security is airport-style, queues are long, and gates fill well before kickoff.

Bag policy

Clear bags only, up to about 12 by 12 by 6 inches (30 by 30 by 15 cm), plus a small clutch. Non-clear bags, backpacks, and oversized bags are not allowed, and there is usually no bag storage at the venue.

Tickets

Tickets are mobile only. Add yours to your phone wallet before you travel, and arrive with a charged phone and ideally a battery pack.

Water and food

One empty, clear, reusable bottle is usually allowed to refill inside; sealed drinks and outside food are generally not permitted. Confirm the exact limit for your venue.

Leave these at home

  • Backpacks, non-clear bags, and coolers
  • Outside food and sealed drinks
  • Professional cameras, tripods, and selfie sticks
  • Umbrellas, poles, large flags, and noisemakers
  • Weapons of any kind, and anything that could be thrown

Re-entry

There is usually no re-entry once you leave, so plan to stay inside after you clear security.

Accessibility and medical

Accessible entrances and seating are available, and there is a medical-exception process for essential items such as medication, medical equipment, and baby supplies. Contact the venue or guest services before match day to arrange it.

Getting there

MARTA rail (GWCC/CNN Center and Vine City stations) is a short walk away and is the easiest option; driving means paid downtown lots.

Gate policies can change and are being confirmed against each venue. Always check the official venue guide before match day. Last reviewed: 2026-06-11. Sources: FIFA World Cup 26: stadiums and host city information, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (official).
